    Running through Costco

Does it annoy you when kids are running in public places like Costco? I went to the store with my best friend the other day. She has 2 year old twins, and I love them to death, but they are pretty much out of control most of the time. I never let me kids run around in public places because they could a) get hurt, b) annoy people, c) get out of my site and at risk for being kidnapped. Maybe I was just paranoid or something, but my kids had boundaries. They could get out of the cart but they had to be next to me, not running down the aisle. My kids were 11.5 months apart, so they were a handful together just because there were two of them. I find it so frustrating to not put my foot down when I'm out with her, especially when I can see the looks on peoples faces as they almost get run over.

My kid is always somehow strapped into submission - I don't understand parents who let their children run wild, either.  Shopping carts have belts for a reason.  And Costco has double-seat carts.  So, yes, I would have been annoyed.

Yea that would drive me nuts too, but it's hard to say something to friends who think they are being "open minded" by letting their children decide things. It's the parent vs friend issue and for some reason they just don't get that when you let them run around in Costco, they don't understand then why you won't let them run around in the street. They are 2! They can't differentiate places, so you need to make sure they know YOUR boundaries.

The looks on other peoples faces are hilarious (when it's not my kid of course)!

Yeah that would really annoy me. My kids stay in the cart at all times because I dont want to risk something happening and I could see them wanting to run around. It bothers me when Im looking at something at a big store like costco and a kid runs into me or is yelling when Im trying to talk to someone that works there. I wouldnt have been able stand it if I was in your position but it is hard to tell a friend when their kids are a little our of hand.

If you think is Costco is bad, check out Trader Joe's! Every time we go, I swear, there's a kid climbing into one of open freezers and two parents standing by and allowing it. I brought home frozen waffles the other day, and the box was damaged.

My husband: "What'd you do, drop the waffles and then run them over with the cart?"

Me: "No. Somebody's kid trampled them in the freezer."

That is freakin hilarious! lmao It's amazing to me that so many parents are completely oblivious. And they always wonder WHY their kids misbehave, duh, because you let them.
